Summary.  The evaluation of mutual solubility data for systems water with n-alkanes, isoalkanes, and cycloalkanes along the three phase line is reported and a formula for the prediction of solubility of alkanes in water is developed. Then a cubic equation of state with an added term, which accounts for hydrogen bonding is used for correlation of liquid–liquid equilibrium data and for prediction of solubility of water in hydrocarbons using alkane in water solubility data. Comparison of the predicted and experimental solubilities is performed using all accessible experimental data. With this approach it is possible to predict the solubilities of water in alkanes with good accuracy over the temperature range up to about 20 K below critical temperature. Solubility of alkanes in water can also be calculated using experimental data for solubility of water in alkanes but results of these calculations are more sensitive to experimental errors of the data. From the bark of the endemic Hawaiian tree Sophora chrysophylla Seem. we have isolated two unprecedented quainolizidine alkaloids, mamanine (4) and pohakuline (5). Both bases are 1-hydroxymethylenequinolizidines which are linked at C-3 to α-pyridone or α-piperidone moieties. The alkaloids may be intermediates in a heretofore unknown biogenetic pathway of Sophora alkaloids.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Es wurde eine UV-spektrophotometrische Methode zur Bestimmung der 2,2-Dicinchoninsäure beschrieben. Messung erfolgt bei pH 10 bei dem Absorptionsmaximum von 260 nm. Der Bestimmungsbereich beträgt 1,71–20,52 g der 2,2-Dicinchonin-Ionen in 25 ml Lösung. Ba2+, Sr2+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Ni2+, Co2+, Zn2+, Hg2+ und Al3+ in 100fachem sowie Pb2+ in 10fachem Überschuß verursachen keine Störungen. Blei in 20 fachem sowie Ag+ und Hg2 2+ in einfachem Überschuß verursachen Ausscheidung von Niederschlägen.
Summary An UV-spectrophotometric method for the determination of 2,2-dicinchonic acid is described. The absorption is measured in a solution of pH 10 at the maximum of 260 nm.The range of application of the method was 1,71 to 20,52 g of DC2– ions in 25 ml of solution. Ba2+, Sr2+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Ni2+, Co2+, Al3+, Zn2+, Hg2+ ions present in hundredfold excess do not interfere with the determination. Ag+, Hg2 2+ ions in one-fold and Pb2+ ion in twenty-fold excess cause the deposition of a precipitate, but five-fold and ten-fold excess of Pb2+ does not interfere.

Aliphatic amines, incorporating one or three (branched) acylated beta-D-glucopyranosyl residues, were coupled with the acid chloride of ferrocenecarboxylic acid and with the diacid chloride of 1,1'-ferrocenedicarboxylic acid to afford four dendrimer-type, carbohydrate-coated ferrocene derivatives in good yields (54-92%). Deprotection of the peracylated beta-D-glucopyranosyl residues was achieved quantitatively by using Zemplén conditions, affording four water-soluble ferrocene derivatives. When only one of the two cyclopentadienyl rings of the ferrocene unit is substituted, strong complexes are formed with beta-cyclodextrin in H2O, as demonstrated by liquid secondary ion mass spectrometry (LSIMS), 1H NMR spectroscopy, electrochemical measurements, and circular dichroism spectroscopy. Molecular dynamics calculations showed that the unsubstituted cyclopentadienyl ring is inserted through the cavity of the toroidal host in these complexes. The electrochemical behavior of the protected and deprotected ferrocene-containing dendrimers was investigated in acetonitrile and water, respectively. The diffusion coefficient decreases with increasing molecular weight of the compound. The potential for oxidation of the ferrocene core, the rate constant of heterogeneous electron transfer, and the rate constant for the energy-transfer reaction with the luminescent excited state of the [Ru(bpy)3]2+ complex (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) are strongly affected by the number (one or two) of substituents and by the number (one or three) of carbohydrate branches present in the substituents. These effects are assigned to shielding of the ferrocene core by the dendritic branches. Electrochemical evidence for the existence of different conformers for one of the dendrimers in aqueous solution was obtained.  相似文献

CrIII Phthalocyaninates: Synthesis, Properties, and Crystal Structure of l-Bis(triphenylphosphine)iminium trans-Di(nitrito(O))phthalocyaninato(2–)chromate(III) [Cr(H2O)2Pc2?]Ix reacts with excess (PNP)NO2 in dimethylformamide to yield less soluble greenblack l-bis(triphenylphosphine)iminium trans-di(nitrito(O))phthalocyaninato(2–)chromate(III), l(PNP)trans[Cr(ONO)2Pc2?], which crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 (No. 2) with Z = 2. The Cr atom is in the center of the Pc2? ligand and the two nitrite ions are monodentate O-coordinated in a mutually trans arrangement to the Cr atom. The Cr? O and Cr? Niso bond distances are 1.9898(14) und 1.981(2) Å, respectively. The geometric data of the coordinated nitrite ion are: d(N? O) = 1.307(2) Å; d(N? O) = 1.205(2) Å; ?(O? N? O) = 113.7(2)°; ?(Cr? O? N) = 116.85(12)°. The non-bonding O atoms are trans to the Cr atom. The Pc2? ligand is slightly saddled. Three weak spin-allowed trip-quartet(TQ) transitions (in 103 cm?1): TQ1 (8.20) < TQ2 (11.3) < TQ3 (20.33) and the characteristic π-π* transitions of the Pc2? ligand: B (14.68) < Q1 (27.1) < Q2 (29.0) < N (35.4) are observed in the UV-VIS-NIR spectrum. Prominent luminescence spectra are obtained by excitation within the TQ1 region, in which the spin-forbidden trip-sextet transition at 7376 cm?1 dominates at low temperatures (T < 50 K). The vibrational spectra are discussed. In coincidence of the excitation lines with TQ3, vs(Cr? O) at 378 cm?1 is selectively resonance Raman (RR) enhanced. vas(Cr? O) is observed in the FIR spectrum at 391 cm?1. The following internal vibrations (in cm?1) of the nitrito ligand are in the MIR spectrum: vas(N? O)/1447 > vas(N? O)/1018/1029 > δ(O? N? O)/828 and in the RR-spectrum: vs(N? O)/1410 > vs(N? O)/952, the last followed by three overtones.  相似文献

We report the orientational behavior of nematic phases of 4-cyano-4'-pentylbiphenyl (5CB) on cationic, anionic, and nonionic surfaces before and after contact of these surfaces with solutions containing the negatively charged vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV). The surfaces were prepared on evaporated films of gold by either adsorption of poly-L-lysine (cationic) or formation of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) from HS(CH2)2SO3- (anionic) or HS(CH2)11(OCH2CH2)4OH (nonionic). Prior to treatment with virus, we measured the initial orientation of 5CB (delta epsilon = epsilon(parallel) - epsilon(perpendicular) > 0) to be parallel to the cationic surfaces (planar anchoring) but perpendicular (homeotropic) after equilibration for 5 days. A similar transition from planar to homeotropic orientation of 5CB was observed on the anionic surfaces. Only planar orientations of 5CB were observed on the nonionic surfaces. Because N-(4-methoxybenzylidene)-4-butylaniline (MBBA, delta epsilon = epsilon(parallel) - epsilon(perpendicular) < 0) exhibited planar alignment on all surfaces, the time-dependent alignment of 5CB on the ionic surfaces is consistent with a dipolar coupling between the 5CB and electrical double layers formed at the ionic interfaces. Treatment ofpoly-L-lysine-coated gold films (cationic) with purified solutions of VSV containing 10(8)-10(10) plaque-forming units per milliliter (pfu/mL) led to the homeotropic alignment of 5CB immediately after contact of 5CB with the surface. In contrast, treatment of anionic surfaces and nonionic surfaces with solutions of VSV containing approximately 10(10) pfu/mL did not cause immediate homeotropic alignment of 5CB. These results and others suggest that homeotropic alignment of 5CB on cationic surfaces treated with VSV of titer > or = 10(8) pfu/mL reflects the presence of virus electrostatically bound to these surfaces.  相似文献

Structure of Pentaphenyldisilane For the first time Pentaphenyldisilane was prepared by Gilman and Goodman. It is produced by the reaction of Ph3SiLi with Ph2ClSiH. The crystal structure presents an ideally staggered conformation. The distance d(Si? Si) = 235.7 pm corresponds to a normal single bond length. This emphasizes the complete relief of the central Si? Zn(II) binding by the dipyridine-containing macrocycles L1-L3 has been analyzed by means of potentiometric measurements in aqueous solutions. These ligands contain one (L1, L2) or two (L3) 2,2'-dipyridine units as an integral part of a polyamine macrocyclic framework having different dimensions and numbers of nitrogen donors. Depending on the number of donors, L1-L3 can form stable mono- and/or dinuclear Zn(II) complexes in a wide pH range. Facile deprotonation of Zn(II)-coordinated water molecules gives mono- and dihydroxo-complexes from neutral to alkaline pH values. The ability of these complexes as nucleophilic agents in hydrolytic processes has been tested by using bis(p-nitrophenyl) phosphate (BNPP) as a substrate. In the dinuclear complexes the two metals play a cooperative role in BNPP cleavage. In the case of the L2 dinuclear complex [Zn(2)L2(OH)(2)](2+), the two metals act cooperatively through a hydrolytic process involving a bridging interaction of the substrate with the two Zn(II) ions and a simultaneous nucleophilic attack of a Zn-OH function at phosphorus; in the case of the dizinc complex with the largest macrocycle L3, only the monohydroxo complex [Zn(2)L3(OH)](3+) promotes BNPP hydrolysis. BNPP interacts with a single metal, while the hydroxide anion may operate a nucleophilic attack. Both complexes display high rate enhancements in BNPP cleavage with respect to previously reported dizinc complexes, due to hydrophobic and pi-stacking interactions between the nitrophenyl groups of BNPP and the dipyridine units of the complexes.  相似文献

Perchlorate is a compound of increasing concern as an environmental contaminant and is being regulated at increasingly stringent levels. Reliable methods are needed to consistently analyze perchlorate at low concentration levels. This research investigates the use of solid-phase extraction cartridges as an alternative to large-volume injection loops to achieve low-level (microg/L level) perchlorate quantitation. The method involves commercially available strong anion exchange (SAX) cartridges. Water samples are filtered (100 to 1000 mL) using the cartridge, which removes the perchlorate from the solution by anion exchange. Then, after the desired volume is filtered, the perchlorate is extracted using 4 mL of 1% NaOH. In addition, a cleanup method is developed to remove competing anions (chloride, sulfate, and carbonate) that are often found in environmental samples. Analyses are performed with an ion chromatograph using a 10-microL injection loop, yielding a perchlorate method detection limit (MDL) of 210 microg/L. One-liter volumes of a 2-microg/L perchlorate spiked deionized water solution are filtered with SAX SPE. Following extraction and analysis, an MDL of 0.82 microg/L is obtained, comparable to that found for 1-mL injection loop systems (reported as low as 0.53 microg/L). MDL studies are then conducted on perchlorate-amended groundwater (solution concentration of 70 microg/L) and surface water (solution concentration of 10 microg/L) using a filtration volume of 200 mL. The MDLs are 6.7 microg/L for the groundwater and 2.4 microg/L for the surface water.  相似文献

Syntheses of Metal Carbonyls, XIV. Novel Vanadium, Niobium, and Tantalum Complexes Having Hydrido Bridges The novel homo- and heterodinuclear organometallic μ-hydrido compounds 3a – c of vanadium, niobium, and tantalum have been synthesized by light-induced reactions of the hydridoniobium complex (η5-C5H5)2NbH3 ( 1 ) with the half-sandwich complexes (η5-C5H5)M(CO)4 ( 2a : M = V; 2b : M = Nb; 2c : M = Ta). These compounds have the general composition LxM – H – Nb(CO)(η5-C5H5)2. The formation of the M – H – Nb moieties is a dark-reaction preceded by two photoreactions that are independent from each other elimination of CO from 2a – c and elimination of H2 from 1 , with the extruded carbon monoxide being transfered to the (η5-C5H5)2NbH fragment; subsequent fixation of the species (η5-C5H5)2Nb(CO)H thus generated to the photogragments (η5-C5H5)M(CO)3 results in donor stabilization of these latter groups. The structural architecture of the derivatives 3a und b was established by X-Ray diffraction. The hydrogen bridges are to be considered as three-center two-electron functions that are responsible for a serious lengthening of the otherwise by at least 40 pm shorter metal-to-metal distances amounting to 371.3 pm in 3a and 373.3 pm in 3b (mean values).  相似文献
